At Cannor Nursery Abbotsford we pride ourselves on having one of the best selections of plant material in the Fraser Valley, from annuals, to perennials, from nursery stock to tropical plants we search out new suppliers to bring our customers healthy interesting plants at a good value. If you are looking for an old favourite or some new and unusual stop by and see what we have. We are constantly getting in new stock so the place is always changing.

The staff here at Cannor Nurseries is very knowledgeable in their fields. We have Canadian Certified Horticultural Technicians on staff to help you with questions and gardening problems. If you are having a problem with a plant we usually ask that you bring a sample into the store so that the staff can better understand what the problem might be.

Annuals

Whether it is basket stuffers in the early spring, flower packs a little later or the larger 6” annuals in early summer we carry a huge supply of annuals. Trusted brands like Proven Winners and Tried and True are found in all their varieties on our benches. Old favourites and new hot introductions all put on a colourful (and sometimes scented) show during the spring season. Our experienced staff is on hand to help you with planting your containers or flowerbeds. They can advise on which plants tolerate shade, which ones like it hot, which ones are drought resistant and any other questions you might have. We carry a large selection of hanging baskets and custom-made container gardens. If you don’t see what you want in stock we are able to custom plant for you.

Perennials

Our perennial section is known through out the valley for the excellent selection of unusual and hard to find plants, as well as the old favourites. The perennial area is located at the back of the annual benches outside. We carry perennials in both 4-inch, 11 cm and #1 size pots. There is also a selection of perennial planters to be found outside. We also have a specific area in the nursery dedicated to shade tolerant perennials and nursery stock…ask to see the shade house. In conjunction with both our Nursery and Perennial Departments is our large selection of Native Plants. So when planning your next Naturescape project come talk to our Naturescape Ambassador and she will help you with your questions.

Nursery

Our large outdoor area is largely dedicated to our nursery stock… we carry fruit trees, small fruits, evergreen trees and shrubs, deciduous trees and just about everything else in between. We are affiliated with a large wholesale nursery in Chilliwack so if we do not have it on site we are usually able to get the tree or shrub you are looking for. Again our experienced staff has sought out wholesalers whose plant quality and variety meet Cannor’s standards for plant health and value.

Pond

Come and enjoy our beautiful display pond! We think that this will give our customers inspiration to start their own water gardens. We carry almost everything the home gardener will need to get started on a water garden project; from the hard goods like liner, filters and pumps to the finishing touches of plants and fish. We carry a large selection of pond plant; floaters, deep water plants, marginals, and shade tolerant ones. For fish we carry various sizes of comets, sarassas, shubunkins and koi. A water garden can be as big as a pond or as small as a water bowl on a table. Come in and ask our staff about how to start your idea.

Tropicals

We have one greenhouse dedicated to tropical/ indoor plants. There are many sizes and varieties to choose from. from drought loving cacti to the lovely bird of paradise. Recent popular plants have been the sensitive plant and the carnivorous Venus flytrap. The plants have all been classified as to their light requirements, which make choosing a houseplant a lot easier.

Clay Pots

In recent years clay pots have become very popular and to bring our customers the best selection we have increased our clay pot section. Located just inside the Annual House the clay pots add a decorative touch to your container gardens for your patio deck or to your houseplants. The glazed pots that we carry are frost resistant and with care can be left out year round…giving you the option of seasonally changing your container gardens.

Other Departments

Besides all of the above listed Departments we carry extensive lines of fertilizers and pesticides. Cannor Nurseries is taking a leading role in converting to organic and non-toxic fertilizers and pesticides and to this end we have an entire section of these alternative options. We also carry the usual garden accompaniments of tools, hoses, soils and garden ornaments.
